Hubby knows that I’m not flashy and out there. I’m a bit reserved but I do like to flex a little glitter every now and then. So when hubby started talking about upgrading my ring earlier in the month, I said okay although I was perfectly fine with the ring I had before, because it was given out of LOVE and the upgrade wasn’t going to increase the love, my love for him is constant. But I’ve learned in marriage that it’s not just about me, it’s give and take. And I can’t stand in the way of him wanting to shower me with gifts as an expression of his love either, just because I don’t think he should. So, I said yes.
So, yesterday, my husband, my true blue guy, left work early, and we drove 3 hours to a particular store just to get the ring that I had my eye one that had just arrived at the store in my size (perfect timing, right?). He wanted me to see it in person, try it on and see if I still LOVED It. So, we did and I did. I know I said I couldn’t love him any more, but when I tried the ring on, looked at it, saw the look on HIS face, I actually do. He totally put the extra time and effort into seeing a smile on my face, and as I stood there in the store with diamond studs in my ear (that he bought me) and a diamond cross on a white gold chain (that he bought me too) I looked at him and he looked at me and I could see him willing me not to cry in the middle of the jewelry store, I felt the love and I knew I could love him for an eternity. Not to mention the ring is called an eternity ring. Here’s why:
“Our sparkling ring symbolizes the light of eternal love with a complete circle of 4.00 ct. t.w. of pave diamonds in all their breathtaking glory! 14kt white gold ring.”
But like I said on Facebook earlier this month:
Now hubby is talking ring upgrades. He knows I’m simple yet don’t mind an occasional splurge. You’ve got to love it when two people are united for Kingdom purpose and still know each other well enough to to WOW each other. This aint about Valentine’s Day it’s about an every day Bible based love that is God ordained.
Ring or no ring, I want him forever!
